Everyday Monuments Project - 2D Design Final
Everyday Hand Lotion
The sculpture was inspired by a cream bottle, chosen for its organic shape and detailed typography. The form was built using wire to mimic its proportions, then covered with a mix of flour, water, brown paper, and newspaper to create a solid structure. After priming with white paint, the surface was painted in layered tones of magenta, silver, rose pink, yellow ochre, and raw sienna. Final details included brand text, cap features, and shading effects. Hot glue was used to simulate the cream’s texture at the top. The project explored the challenge of replicating curves and lettering, translating everyday objects into expressive sculptural forms.
